The Search Goes On, arc October/November 2018 - Issue 106
The Perfect Light Project in 2017 led us to conclude that we do not have a perfect light source yet but there are properties of light that people respond to and love that could help create a Perfect Light. We are interested as to what these properties of light are and how we can find them. The Perfect Light Project continued into 2018 and we held a competition looking for people to help contribute to our ongoing ‘research’ into what exactly is the Perfect Light. We wondered if it was possible to look for and find a Perfect Light Experience.
When we say Perfect Light Experience, we mean a moment, an event or a space that is all about light that essentially blows us away with wonder. We created a search that included some nature, the city and some light art.
We had space for 3 guests to join us on our search for a Perfect Light Experience, consisting of a 4 night trip to Japan in June. We wanted to select people that are passionate about light and to offer them a chance to experience, share and discuss light with us as part of our journey to find the Perfect Light. We asked them to upload a 1 minute video describing a Perfect Light Experience they had had or would like to have for a chance to be be part of the experience.
We would like to thank everyone who submitted a video to the Perfect Light Project. We had many entries from around the world including Mexico, Spain, USA, France, UK, Switzerland, UAE, Finland, Iceland, Denmark, Argentina, India, Colombia, Sweden, Israel, Uruguay, Taiwan, Japan, Turkey, Brazil and Italy…
Our winners were: Stuart Alexander, Francesco Anselmo and Alita Escobedo. We made a short film about the search.
